The Perch Range was borne out of necessity one day on a Nordic walk in the Northumberland Countryside. Needing something to sit on that was water resistant, easy to carry and pleasing, founder Ruth Jacobs, searched for something suitable on the market for walkers, campers, hikers, outdoor activities, day trippers, etc., without success. She decided to have a go herself - this was the eureka moment. Months of trials and designs followed until the product was right- the Pocket Perch was born. The rest of the products quickly followed and the range was complete.
The personal Pixy and Pocket Perches can fit into a pocket or small bags and weigh less than an average mobile phone.
The Poly Perch can sit up to 2 people and comes with a handy loop for hooking with a carabiner clip to secure on rucksacks.
The Pet Perch can be used for your favorite pet to sit on when out and about, or in the car, or home. It keeps surfaces free from damp, dirty paws and is warm a comfy to nestle on.
The Picnic Perch is the perfect alternative to a weighty picnic blanket and seats up to 4 comfortably, with two handles for ease of carrying.
The products are handmade and have short runs of individual cover designs which increases the uniqueness of each run, once they're gone, they're gone.

Meet the designer
Ruth Jacobs is founder of Jacwicks Designs and designer of the Perch Range. She lives in the North East of England, close to the beautiful city of Durham. After many years in the corporate world, she is enjoying a more creative way of life. Ruth has enjoyed sewing for many years, mostly self-taught, she is a keen dressmaker, embroiderer, needlepoint sewer and patchwork quilter. When she's not at her kitchen table designing new products, she like to spend time walking in the countryside and by the seaside. Ruth is easily distracted by flowers, wildlife and a good view, and her love of nature inspires the designs. The name 'Jacwicks' (pronounced Jackwicks) came from a merge of surnames. Ruth married whilst setting up the company and took the first part of her new surname and merged it with the last part of her previous surname.
Handmade in the UK
Each unique product is handmade in the UK from the North East of England, near the beautiful city of Durham. As a result, the range is regularly updated with new limited design runs. It's important to Ruth to keep her carbon footprint as low as possible. Every care is taken to look for an environmentally friendly alternative where possible. Ruth's also got a bit of a thing about peacocks!
